Frequently Asked Questions

What's an invitation key?
This is a special code someone who is already playing Whoa-Horsie has to send you before you can join and create an account.

How do I get an invitation key?
You have to find someone who already plays Whoa-Horsie and ask them to invite you!

How do I send an invitation key?
You must already be a member to send invitation keys. Login to your account and go to your settings. Click on the invite tab. Enter the email address of the person you'd like to invite to play the game.

How many invitation keys do I get?
Only 5! Choose your friends carefully.

Can I get more invitation keys?
Usually, no. However, sometimes you might find a surprise as you explore the lands...

My horse or human died! What happened?
In order to get horse shoes you have to explore the game world. If you're not careful you can be attacked by wild animals or get hurt. If your horse or human died you probably were exploring. You'll need to find a new horse or human to play as unless you have a one-time revival.

I have a revival but I still can't bring my horse or human back to life!
You can only restore a horse or human that passed away up to 7 days ago. After that they're gone for good, sorry!

How do I increase my herd rank?
Play the game! The more you play the higher your rank will go. A horse with a higher rank can take a more active part in the game by deciding where it will move, which horses to accept into the herd, and all sorts of other neat features!

How do I leave my herd?
To leave your herd you need to go to horses > manage horses > select the name of the horse you want to leave from its herd > then go to pality > withdraw from herd. Be careful! Leaving your herd means you are more likely to be attacked by predators or caught by ranchers!

Can we get rid of a lead mare or lead stallion?
Yes! If the lead stallion or mare's kick meter goes up to 100% they can no longer lead your herd. If something happens to the lead horse the next highest ranked horse will automatically take their place.

Do I have to be a part of a herd?
No. However there is safety in numbers.

Is it easier having a horse without a herd?
No! Horses that are not a part of a herd are the first ones to be attacked by predators or caught by ranchers. In most cases, predators won't even try to attack horses if they're part of a herd. If you've decided to go out on your own then try to join a new herd as soon as possible.

How do I care for my horse? It says its dying!
Your horse will automatically eat and drink as long as there are enough resources at your map location. If the map location you're on is out of food or water you'll need to move to a different location. If you are part of a herd then your lead stallion or mare will take care of this for you. Be careful! If your herd is really big and there aren't enough resources to go around your horse could starve anyways. In cases like this you may need to leave your herd in search of your own food.

My horse is low on minerals. What do I do?
You need to go explore the area to find some more. If a horse doesn't get enough minerals then its health will drop, even if it's eating and drinking like it should be. When your horse's mineral levels drop below 50% it will wander off on it's own to find more. Leaving the herd can be dangerous! Try and stay with your herd if you can. A horse that's low on minerals is also more prone to being captured by a rancher.

My horse died and I don't have enough horseshoes to get a new one. What do I do?
You'll need to use the search to find an "extra" horse. This is a horse that another member has bred but nobody is actively playing as. Extra horses can be all ages and all genders and a part of any of the game herds.
